October 9th, 1940, Wednesday: John Winston was born in Liverpool to Julia and Alfred Lennon. He was raised by his aunt, Mimi and lived with her and his uncle, George all of his childhood and teenage years. His first band, The Quarrymen, was formed in 1956 and soon evolved into The Beatles in 1960. Lennon has been a writer, producer, performer, father, husband, friend, genius, inspiration to many people like myself, and much more than that. His rebelious nature was easily spotted in his songs, writings, interviews, drawings while his critisism of the Vietnam War resulted in a plethora of anti-war related songs. To me, he will always be my inspiration, a man I will always admire and love with every bit of my heart, but mostly, he will always be my dream. Today, he would be celebrating the 72nd year of his life on earth, but for now, I’m sure he’s arranging a big party in heaven. Happy Birthday John. We love you and we miss you.
